Traveling To Hot Springs, Arkansas In Class A Motor Homes
When people purchase Class A motor homes, they can't wait to start traveling. With 48 continental states to choose from, choosing can be quite difficult. Some people like to start close and slowly branch out. Others like to start with "A" (Alabama) and work their way to "W" (Wyoming.) Still others like to pamper themselves. If you fall into this class, then Arkansas may be the place for you.
Hot Springs: A Place of Relaxation
Hot Springs is so named because of the gorgeous natural springs. The springs are said to have healing qualities, and people from all over the country go there for the mineral baths and spas. The city only has one working bathhouse in operation, right in the middle of the city. However, you can visit any number of spas which have the hot springs pumped in.
While many of the hot spring spas are connected with hotels (The Austin, The Arlington), you don't have to be a guest at the hotel to visit the spa. In fact, some of the spas allow walk-ins. Reservations are recommended but are not always necessary, unless you visit during peak season.
Available RV Parks
Hot Springs offers several places for the RV to park. On my travels, I saw two RV parks close to our destination. However, when checking online I was able to find at least 10 with a physical address in Hot Springs.
One park was just on the outside of town and the other park was directly across from Magic Springs, a popular water park. Call ahead to find out if the parks can fit a Class A and to check prices. The prices varied significantly from park to park, as did the amenities provided.
Local Attractions in Hot Springs
- Hot Springs Mountain Tower - One of the more popular attractions in Hot Springs is the Hot Springs Mountain Tower. It is very important to note that any RV that is over 30 feet in length cannot make it up the winding trail. This will affect Class A motor homes, 5th wheel travel trailers, and other large RVs. If your RV is longer than 30 feet, bringing your car along is a good idea. If you don't bring a car, there are cabs available.
- Magic Springs - This water park is family friendly and will promise a good time. General admission is $45, kids under 48 inches tall are $25, toddlers are free, and parking will cost $10.
- Numerous Spas - Check out the local hotels for great spas.
- Bath Houses - The only working bath house is Buckstaff Bath House located in downtown Hot Springs.
Hot Springs, Arkansas is just one of the many places you will want to visit in your Class A motor home. Peaceful, relaxing, and adventurous, this town has something for everyone.
