Older Cat Leg Amputation
My 17 year old cat has a tumour.?

He appears to have no pain, eats and drinks well and otherwise is very well for his age.My vet said that even if he operated it would probably lead to amputation of his leg, as it is fast growing.I cant bear this for him ,what would you do?

I am sorry to read your post. 17 years is still shorter than you want, and you hope for many more. Cats are very stoic, so you are faced with one of the most difficult choices a cat lover can face. You have to look for changes, and as strange as it might seem, sometimes your cat will 'tell' you it is time for release. There will be something different in their behavior which will tell you they are giving you permission. When the quality of their life no longer is there, then you give your beloved cat release. No one can second judge you, as only your heart will tell you.

Thanks for visiting!
