Cat Leg Amputation Healing

vet says my cat needs her leg amputated..?
long story short, it broke and isn't healing at all and they said they way its broken wont heal without a miracle.
is it normal that i'm really really upset about it? like i was driving Home from the vet crying..
also, how is the amputation going to change her? will it hold her back from doing anything cats usually do?
i plan on getting a 2nd and 3rd and 4th opinion. and they said we wont amputate for a while. as of now the plan is to keep her kenneled for a month then we're doing another xray. depending on what that shows we're going to take the next step.
I'm sorry to hear about your cat. Cats can still lead normal lives with three legs once they become adjusted. They even have attachments for their amputated limb that can help them be more mobile. I'm sure she will be rather depressed for a while and will have many special needs once the leg is gone. She will need a lot of help rehabilitating and a lot of human monitoring... But, once she is adjusted, she will be in good shape.
Just to be on the safe side, I would go to another vet for a second opinion. You never know, you may find a miracle worker.
Thanks for visiting!
