New Vaccine for Canine Melanoma?

My beloved Great Pyrenees was just diagnosed with subungual neural crest melanoma. I did some research, and told my vet about a new vaccine by Merril that has been given conditional FDA approval. My dog goes in Thursday for amputation to the second bone of his toes and his dews. Afterwards, we will be referred to a veterinary oncologist, and, hopefully, the vaccine.

My question is has anyone had experience with this vaccine? It is supposed to prolong their life/remission. How is it administered? I read somewhere it is deep tissue injection? How many times is it administered? Cost?

etc etc. Anything anyone can tell me would be greatly appreciated.
Ooops! Make that new vaccine by Merial, not Merril.

My sympathy for your pyr. You didn't say how old he is.

All the questions you asked are things that it's the responsibility of your VET to tell you those answers. That's part of the service you already paid him for.

Meanwhile, read up on it at the websites below.
