amputation yes or no???

I have been recently given 3 options abot my codition 1. have limb salvage surgery and risk having my bones break down again. 2. leave my foot the way it is and live in pain for the rest of my life living on loritabs or 3. a below the knee amputation i would like to have peoples input as to what they would have done i will weigh all answers carefully

i am telling you this from personal experience i had an infection in the bone i the heel. they amputated my heel thinking that would be enough. after a year of trying to get that wound to heal my doctor suggested a below he knee amputation.i was not sure of that because i9 was only35 years old but after much thought and prayer i call and set up the surgery. one week later i was going into surgery knowing that when i woke up i would have only one leg.surgery went well but it took me about 6months to heal before i could get mu artificial leg. i healed slowly because i am a double organ transplant recipient. i felt better quickly because they got rid of the infection that i had been fighting for so long. it has been 3 1?2 years and i do More than than before i had my amputation. you can do anything you want to. i have went to Graceland and went to some civil war Battle sites, swimming,bike riding,mow on a riding lawn mower,shopping,clean House,play basketball. i know i can do anything that i want to do.it is not a easy choices to make to sign those papers saying it is OK to lose your leg but i think it is the best thing you can do. please e mail me and i can hep you. i love telling others your life is not over but it is just begining but in a different way. please pray about it and know that it is the Right thing to do. god bless you!!
