Are auto inflating life jackets reliable?
I am buying a life jacket for fishing, so want something which gives me some freedom of movement. The auto inflate ones seem to be the lightest and give the most freedom of movement, however I am worried about their reliability - will they inflate when needed? Also, what sets off the auto inflate and is this likely to happen by accident?
I've done a training course with them and mostly they worked OK. However the one was given failed to go off - whether this was part of the course or not, am not sure. I had to manually inflate the jacket which was no problem to do - easy to inflate it.
